ABOUT THE ROWDIES
Good people first, good athletes second. That's the belief RobCo Rowdies was built on — and it shapes everything we do.
BUILT ON ONE CORE BELIEF
RobCo Rowdies was founded in 2025 by Josh South and Chad McLin — two coaches who've known each other since their daughters were toddlers and have coached them together since their very first t-ball season.
Josh was a multi-sport athlete growing up, with aspirations to become a high school coach, though life led in other directions and he now leads a public safety software business. Chad was also a multi-sport athlete who went on to pitch in college, then coach high school baseball to multiple state championships as an assistant before leading another program as Head Coach, helping to rebuild the team and establish a winning record. Both Josh and Chad have over 6 years of rec league coaching experience as well. That same close-knit, know-your-players mentality defines how they run the program today.
The program started with a single 10U softball team and has grown into a full program — adding 8U softball along with 8U, 9U, and 10U baseball for Fall 2026. Josh serves as Head Coach of 8U softball, Chad as Head Coach of 10U softball.
THE PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
What we believe, and why it matters.
The program exists to develop young athletes the right way — not just teaching the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, and baserunning, but building the game IQ, discipline, and character that carry far beyond the field.
That starts with how we define success. We don't measure it by wins and losses. We measure it by growth — in skill, in situational understanding, in a player's grasp of the "why" behind the game. And we make sure our players understand that growth isn't linear. It's forward and backward, up and down, all at once.
Playing time is earned through effort in practice and preparation, because learning to prepare for something and show up for your teammates is a lesson that outlasts any season.
Respect runs through everything we do — for teammates, coaches, opponents, and the game itself. Our athletes compete hard: pushing one another to improve internally, and competing fiercely against outside opponents. But they shake hands and carry themselves with respect before, during, and after every game.
An intentional, limited tournament schedule protects space for players to stay multi-sport athletes, avoid burnout, and simply be kids, all without a huge price tag.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Good People First
Character comes before athleticism. We develop young people who compete hard, respect the game, and carry themselves with integrity — on the field and off it.
Growth Over Wins
We don't measure success by the scoreboard. We measure it by growth — in skill, game IQ, and a player's understanding of the why behind the game.
Team First
Playing time is earned through effort and preparation. Learning to show up for your teammates is a lesson that outlasts any season.
Accessible & Sustainable
An intentional tournament schedule keeps players multi-sport athletes and avoids burnout. Serious development without a five-figure price tag.
